About Speak Clear
Speak Clear is a sole proprietorship located at 520 8th Avenue between 36th and 37th streets in New York City. Speak Clear was founded by Jeffrey Davis in 2005, and has a part-time staff of ten coaches and teachers. Speak Clear’s mission is to help struggling speakers to become audience-focused, relaxed, purposeful, and articulate.
Before Jeff started Speak Clear, he was an Adjunct Lecturer teaching courses at Bronx Community College of the City University of New York and St. John's University. Jeff worked under Dr. Debra Gonsher Vinik as an Adjunct Lecturer teaching a course titled “Voice and Articulation for the Business and the Professions” at Bronx Community College. Dr. Vinik is the Humanities Division Coordinator and a Professor and Chairperson of the Communication Arts and Sciences Department. Jeff worked with students from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, aiding students to become engaged, audience-focused speakers, and developed an affinity for helping students to speak English more fluently without losing the use of their accent-of-origin.
At St. John's University, Jeff was an Adjunct Lecturer teaching a course in Public Speaking at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences under Chairman Thomas Kitts.
Jeff has a Master of Fine Arts in Performance from Rutgers University where he studied the International Phonetic Alphabet, in addition to the Skinner and Linklater Articulation and Speaking Systems with famed vocal coach and author, Patricia Fletcher.
Jeff has appeared as a guest speaker on "American Morning" on CNN with Jeanne Moos. You can see clips of his latest engagement on the "Media" page.
Speak Clear's executive clients include Telefonica Inc., Deloitte, The Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, The French-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Conde Nast.
